Our tour leader Bruce went above and beyond at all times to ensure everyone was happy, and that even the slightest hitch was instantly and well resolved. He also had a tremendous sense of humour and was very much a part of our group. The local guides were extremely knowledgeable. All the drivers were exceptional.

Everybody within the group arrived well informed and well prepared. We were all careful with hand hygiene and choice of eating. Everyone remained well.

Chose this tour as it included destinations not offered by other companies such as the Shaolin temple, Longman caves, Iron pagoda etc Felt we saw more of the old China there not just the more Westernised cities such as Shanghai, Xian

Highlights: Terracotta Warriors, overnight train journey, Silk Embroidery factory (although too little time) the silk factory, Longman caves - actually it was all good and although Kaifeng was a rather depressing place I wouldn't have missed any of it out.A wonderful holiday, well organised with a fabulous itinerary, made exceptional by our tour leader Bruce.

Introduction: Walk along the Great Wall of China, visit grottoes, temples and tombs, and cruise the Yangtze River on this trip from Beijing to the busy port of Shanghai. The tour starts with a walk along the Great Wall at Mutianyu, and then explores the capital Beijing, from the Imperial Forbidden City to the Summer Palace and Tiananmen Square. We travel overnight by train to Zhengzhou where we visit the Provincial Museum, before continuing on to Kaifeng and the Iron Pagoda and Dragon Pavilion. We explore the Shaolin Monastery and Pagoda Forest before arriving at Luoyang, home to the Longmen Grottoes. Next stop Xi’an where we visit the Wild Goose Pagoda and City Wall. Wander through the bustling Muslim Quarter before going back in time with a visit to the amazing ranks of the Terracotta Army and Banpo Museum. From Xi’an we fly to Chongqing and cruise down the Yangtze River for three days, sailing through the spectacular 3 Gorges and stopping off along the way to explore the Ghost City of Fengdu. We end our trip in Shanghai and visit the fabulous Jade Buddha Temple, the Yu Gardens and the Bund.
