Introduction: After the sights of Kathmandu, we head off into the Himalayas with a flight into the tiny airstrip of Lukla. We trek through the homelands of the Sherpa people, among their villages and Buddhist monasteries, with views of Everest and neighbouring Ama Dablam. We trek to Namche Bazaar, the prosperous, bustling market town , in the heart of Sherpa country, soaking up the magnificent mountain scenery. We trek alongside the mighty Imtse Khola to the high valley below Everest, through villages and past stupas with prayer flags fluttering in the breeze. In Tengboche we visit the Monastery with its backdrop of Ama Dablam, before continuing to Gokyo. Trekking to Gokyo Ri rewards you with dramatic landscapes, beautiful views of the Gokyo Lakes, and spectacular views of the Himalayas and of Ngozumpa glacier.

Please note: This trek is physically demanding and requires an above average level of fitness. Some trekking experience is recommended. Please discuss your suitability with your consultant if you have any concerns before booking.
